Ioan Buciu received the Diploma of Electrical Engineering in 1996 and the Master of Science degree in microwaves in 1997, both from the University of Oradea. From 1997 to 2000, he served as a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Applied Electronics, University of Oradea. During 2001 – 2005, he was a researcher and a PhD student at the Artificial Intelligence and Information Analysis Lab, Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki, Greece. He received the PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering in 2008 from the “Politechnica” University of Timisoara, Romania, with theme Human Face Analysis. Currently he is with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, University of Oradea, Romania.
